The Philanthropy and Community Service Committee

The Philanthropy Committee reports to the Philanthropy Chairman. Its purpose is assist with planning and coordinating philanthropy events for the chapter’s participation.

Why have a committee?

  • A small group is able to work more rapidly, meet more easily, and discuss issues more effectively.
  • Members are chosen for their expertise, ability and interest in the committee’s function.
  • Committee membership provides excellent leadership training experience.
  • Committees get the entire chapter involved in fraternity affairs.
  • A committee allows the Chairman to adequately delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.

Functions of the Philanthropy Committee:

  • Facilitate the development of chapter goals and objectives and execute tasks to achieve them.
  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate all philanthropy and service projects.
  • Ensure that philanthropy events operate effectively and provide a positive experience for members and the benefactors.
  • Serve as chapter role models by actively participating in philanthropy activities.
  • Help educate the chapter about the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps and other charitable organizations.
  • Maintain a recognition and awards program as an incentive.
  • Promote Phi Kappa Tau’s leadership in service through positive public relations efforts.
  • Assist with the ongoing cultivation and stewardship of donors.
  • Positively represent the Fraternity to charitable organizations and community agencies.
