Non-Phi Tau as Chapter Advisor

My chapter is searching for a new chapter advisor and is thinking about asking someone who isnt a Phi Tau to serve in that capacity. Are their any chapters out there who have a chapter advisor who isnt a Phi Tau ? If so, how has it worked out for your chapter.
